The Prestige (2006) 9/10

Robert Angier (Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Bale) are the best of friends and work together as Shemps to a famous magician. When Angier’s wife Julia (Perabo) dies during a performance, he blames Borden for her death. The two go their separate ways, but become obsessed with creating any magic trick that the other can not figure out. Borden begins to perform a trick called the Transported Man, but when Angier creates a similar illusion that seems completely impossible, Borden soon sets to work trying to find his secrets out.

This film was not at all how I imagined it to be. It was filled with enough twists and turns to keep any viewer on the edge of their seat, and even though the story starts at the end, we are still surprised by the movies turn of events.
