Starring : Eddie Murphy, Jeff Garlin, Steve Zahn, Regina King, Anjelica Huston
Director : Steve Carr
Running Time : 88 mins
Charlie (Murphy) and Phil (Garlin) are two fathers who both lose their jobs and wind up as stay-at-home dads. This situation gives them the idea to open their own daycare centre so they can make money whilst they look after their own kids, but things don’t go according to plan. Then, just when things start going right for them, they come to the attention of Gwyneth Harridan (Huston), head mistress of the Chapman Academy, who has single handedly driven all day care competition in the area out of business.
Whilst this is a nice enough family comedy, and the children are just rowdy enough to keep the fathers busy and the viewers entertained, this wasn’t Eddie Murphy at his finest. Now that he seems to be concentrating on his family movies to keep his own children entertained, he seems to be losing some of his edge, especially in his live action work.
