Running Time : 187 mins
Director Carl Denham (Black) has just lost his leading lady for his latest film, so hires vaudeville performer Anne Darrow (Watts) to take on the role. His plan to aid in his flagging career is to travel to Skull Island to investigate the legend of Kong, a giant ape that lives on the fables island but, when they get there, they are attacked by the natives and Darrow is kidnapped as an offering to the God-like gorilla!
Basically this film was all about the effects; Kong looks fantastic, with even the tiniest detail painstakingly thought through in his design, as do the islands resident giant lizards. The main problem was that, as with much of Jackson's work, it was just too long!
