Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Man's Chest (2006) 8/10

In the sequel to the 2003 box office smash, Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow, this time trying to save his soul from becoming enslaved by Davy Jones. He again enlists the aid of Will Turner (Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Knightly), but it's a race against time to save him from eternal damnation!

Despite the surprising level of negative feedback for this film from the critics, this was actually very entertaining. Johnny Depp once again proves that almost anything he touches turns to gold by playing yet another of his increasing repertoire of comical characters. There's plenty of action and enough new information about the characters to keep the viewers interested. The only draw back is this is very long, and doesn't have much in the way of closure due to the soon to be released continuation.
