Charlie Bucket (Highmore) comes from a poor family who have never had anything good happen to them... until he wins a golden ticket to go on a tour of the newly opened chocolate factory owned by the mysterious Willy Wonka (Depp). There he meets a group of ungrateful brats who one by one get picked off through their own greed and ignorance!

Tim Burton directs an amazing version of Roald Dahl's childrens classic. Depp is suitably creepy as Willy Wonka, and Highmore is actually likeable as the eponomous hero. The sets are great, and original songs are used to great effect.
