Starring : Gaspard Ulliel, Rhys Ifans
Director : Peter Webber
Running Time : 116 mins
This film just wasn't very good. It takes two hours to explain that Hannibal started eating people because some German soldiers killed and ate his sister? It could have been done in five minutes! And then they tried to make it a twist that he ate her too? I'm sure that was covered in the previous movie (definitely in the previous book). Ulliel is reasonably creepy looking, but looks nothing like either Lector's of the past. The murders are far less grisly than in the previous installments, and shows that Harris's imagination is beginning to wane. Why this got an 18 certificate I'll never know!
