Starring : Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellen, Jean Reno, Paul Bettany
Director : Ron Howard
Running Time : 143 mins
Professor Robert Langdon (Hanks) is summoned to the Louvre to investigate a murder scene. There he is warned by Agent Sophie Neveu (Tautou) that his life is in danger and that Captain Bezu Fache (Reno) suspects him of the murder. After a series of near misses with the law, Langdon and Neveu pay a visit to Sir Leigh Teabing (McKellen) and discover that the murder and the events following are an elaborate attempt to hide the fact that Mary Magdellen was the wife of Jesus and that their descendents are still living amongst us!
Despite all the hype from the book, this film just wasn’t very good. At points it feels like it’s trying desperately to be an action thriller, but fails miserably as there just isn’t enough substance or action to keep this going for the two and a half hours it manages to drag itself out for!
