The Break-Up (2006) 8/10

Following a disastrous dinner with their respective families, Brooke Meyers (Aniston) decides to break-up with her boyfriend Gary Grobowski (Vaughn) in the hope that he’ll change when he realises he misses her, but Gary isn’t ready to budge and thinks that it’s all over. The other major problem is their shared condo, which is too expensive for either one to own alone, so what follows is a series of petty one-upmanships in an attempt to prove who is in the right.

Whilst this wasn’t a laugh-out-loud comedy, I still found it enjoyable. Rather than being filled with ridiculous slapstick, the makers have opted to go for the subtle approach and fill the movie with clever mind games rather than prat-falls and one-liners.
