Final Destination 2 (2003) 8/10

Kimberley Corman (Cook) has a premonition that there is going to be a major car accident on a nearby motorway. Low and behold the premonition comes true, but only after she manages to save a group of people from dying in the disaster. Just like in the first film, the survivors have to die in a particular order, but due to the intervention of Officer Thomas Burke (Landis) everyone is going to die in reverse order, with the first victim last! Hoping to get some more information to help her survive, Kimberley visits Clear Rivers (Larter), the sole survivor from Flight 180.

When I heard about this film I actually tried to avoid it, thinking there were already too many bad horror sequels doing the rounds, but when I saw it on TV a few years later I was pleasantly surprised. In many ways this could really be the best of the three (so far) movies, but obviously it will never be thought of as being as original as the first.
