Two Brothers (2004) 7/10

Starring : Guy Pearce, Jean-Claude Dreyfus, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Freddie Highmore
Director : Jean-Jacques Annaud
Running Time : 100 mins

In the 1920s a pair of tiger cubs are separated when big game hunter Aidan McRory (Pearce) captures one of them, Kumal, and sells him to the circus. His brother Sangha makes it his mission to rescue his brother, and embarks on a years long search for his long lost sibling throughout the whole of French Indochina and beyond.

This is a cute movie which really takes us into the mind of the tigers without patronising us by dubbing them with human voices. Both as cubs and as fully grown cats, the tigers are beautiful and enchanting and give the viewer a cuddly insight into the life of a tiger. Sadly most of the actors in the movie do little to engage our attention, but who cares when you're watching a movie solely about two tigers?
