When Lina Mayfleet (Ronan) and Doon Harrow (Treadaway) are given their life time job assignments in the city of Ember, they start to notice that there are some suspicious things going on. As power outages increase, and food supplies start to dwindle, the two youngsters decide to investigate how to resolve the issue, and discover a long forgotten secret that could save their whole city from destruction.

Although very slowly paced, which might mean some kids won't have the patience to sit through the whole movie, this was pretty entertaining and proved to be an adventure filled thrill ride that doesn't talk down to kids and shows that young characters in children’s stories don't have to be comical or unrealistic. This is a good movie that the whole family could enjoy.
