Jason Shepherd (Muniz) is a compulsive liar who finds himself to be the ultimate boy who cried wolf when Hollywood producer Marty Wolf (Giamatti) steals his short story entitled Big Fat Liar and uses it to make a Blockbuster movie. In order to prove that he really did write the story, he and his friend Kaylee (Bynes) travel to California to find the cheating producer and get him to come clean about his latest script.

This isn't a very clever movie, but it does have enough light chuckles to keep it entertaining. Giamatti is the stand out star as the Hollywood producer who gets the Home Alone treatment and is ritually humiliated by Muniz and Bynes in order to get him to admit his crimes to Muniz's parents.
