Sleuth (2007) 6/10

Starring : Michael Caine, Jude Law
Director : Kenneth Branagh
Running Time : 86 mins

Andrew Wyke (Caine) lives on his own in a huge house, and invites Milo Tindle (Law), the man who has stolen Wyke’s wife away from him, to visit in the simple hope of ruining his life with his wife, but Tindle is just as clever as Wyke and a disturbing game of cat and mouse soon spirals out of control.

This was an incredibly weird movie which at points made little or no sense, and had some very strange moments which didn’t really feel like the lent to the plot at all but instead made it seem more confused. The permanent tango music was appropriate yet distracting, which at times got in the way of the acting, but Caine and Law perform admirably in the limited roles which rely entirely on their relationship with each other.
