Running Time : 117 mins
Augusten Burroughs (Cross) comes from an unstable home where his father Norman (Baldwin) is an alcoholic and his mother Deidre (Benning) suffers from depression. His mother starts to see a therapist named Dr Finch (Cox) and eventually sends Augusten to live with the doctor and his extended family, where Augusten learns some very unusual lessons in life.
Despite having a limited plot and very little action to it, this is nevertheless a very entertaining movie with both some deep and comical moments. It’s hard to find anything not to like about this movie; it is a little pretentious, but we as an audience know that we’re better than everyone in the movie anyway so the pretensions are largely lost on the whole.
