Starring : Cuba Gooding Jr, Beyonce Knowles, Melba Moore, Larry John Meyers, LaTanya Richardson
Director : Jonathan Lynn
Running Time : 118 mins
Darrin Hill (Gooding) heads back to his home town to attend his favourite aunts funeral only to discover that she has left him a lot of money in her will. The only catch to him getting the money is that he has to take over the running of the town choir and help them to win a prestigious Gospel Choir competition.
Despite a relatively slow beginning, this wasn’t a bad movie, with some reasonably funny one liners which made me chuckle. The plot feels like one Gooding has handled before, perhaps in Snow Dogs where he gets another complicated inheritance, but this is still funny and comes from a surprisingly successful director!
