Beyond Re-Animator (2003) 7/10

Howard Phillips (Barry) takes a job at a prison where Dr Herbert West is serving out his sentence and becomes his protégé in the science of bringing the dead back to life, but things go disastrously wrong when Wets theorises that he can only bring someone successfully back from the dead by killing another living being.

I honestly thought this was better than Bride Of Re-Animator, in spite of finding the plot a little far fetched, even for a horror movie. The reasons for Dr Phillips joining forces with West are never really explained, and surely his idea for getting to West should have been to avenge his sister’s death, but in spite of these glaring errors this is still a reasonably enjoyable horror flick.
