Sahara (2005) 6/10

Starring : Matthew McConaughey, Penelope Cruz, Steve Zahn, Rainn Wilson, William H Macy, Lambert Wilson
Director : Breck Eisner
Running Time : 124 mins

Dirk Pitt (McConaughey) and his trusty sidekicks go in search of a missing battleship used during the Civil War that apparently lies somewhere in the Sahara desert, but when they meet Dr Eva Rojas (Cruz) they realise that the battleship may be linked to a more modern day problem relating to a man named Yves Massarde (Lambert Wilson) whose plans for waste disposal could result in a global catastrophe.

This movie was okay, but didn’t really have any character to it. The majority of the characters are pretty one dimensional, and almost from the outset this movie is quite predictable, but it is still action packed and enjoyable, with enough explosions and gun fights to keep even the most difficult to satisfy action junkie happy.
