Kinky Boots (2005) 7/10

Charlie Price (Edgerton) inherits his fathers shoe company and realises just how badly it was being run. The only way he can see the company surviving is to move away from mens shoes and corner the market in another brand, and that’s when he hires drag queen Lola (Ejiofor) to help him create a new line of transvestite footwear.

This was a great little movie, very reminiscent of The Full Monty, and featured some nice subdues comedy moments. Chiwetel Ejiofor is barely recognisable as Lola, and it’s funny to see how successful he’s been since making this. There’s a certain Sunday night movie feel to this, but that doesn’t mean it’s not good. Check it out and see for yourself.
