Starring : Anthony Hopkins, Saginaw Grant, Diane Ladd, Walton Goggins
Director : Roger Donaldson
Running Time : 122 mins
Burt Munro (Hopkins) is an optimistic New Zealander who has spent most of his life repairing a 1920 Indian motorbike in the hope of travelling to the USA to compete against other bikers and make his mark in history. With little knowledge about the country he plans to visit, Burt makes his way to America and begins his journey into the history books.
I was amazed to find myself actually enjoying this movie, as at no point does the story drift off into nothingness. There is plenty going on aside from the bike race itself, and Hopkins plays Munro with an excellent level of naïve optimism from start to finish.
