I Spy (2002) 6/10

Starring : Eddie Murphy, Owen Wilson, Famke Janssen, Malcolm McDowell, Gary Cole
Director : Betty Thomas
Running Time : 93 mins

Alex Scott (Wilson) is one of the United States’ best operatives, and he is sent in to investigate when an experimental stealth plane called the Switchblade is stolen. His bosses suspect that arms dealer Arnold Gundars (McDowell) has the plane, and decide to team Scott up with boxer Kelly Robinson (Murphy) as Gundars is his biggest fan and will be in the cities where Robinson is fighting.

As with many of Murphy’s recent films, this didn’t quite match up to the brilliance of his early career. The idea was weak to say the least, and although handled with some degree of intelligence, it just felt like a better casting choice would have been Jackie Chan once again opposite Wilson!
