Igby Slocumb (Culkin) is a teenaged boy who persues relationships with older women in an attempt to forget about the insanity of his father Jason (Pullman) and the cancer of his mother Mimi (Sarandon). He eventually moves to Manhattan after flunking out of every prep school he’s attended in one last ditch effort to not turn out like his parents.
Another one of those films that felt like it was aiming for cult status, yet somehow missed. Despite being quite entertaining, what with all the drama and pathos contained within it, there was something a little dry about some of the scenes which no amount of big name actors could disguise.
