Starring : Nicolas Cage, Eva Mendes, Wes Bentley, Peter Fonda, Donal Logue, Sam Elliott, Matt Long
Director : Mark Steven Johnson
Running Time : 124 mins
In order to cure his fathers cancer, a young Johnny Blaze makes a deal with Mephistopheles (Fonda) to cure him, only to have his father taken from him in a nasty biking accident. Years later, the grown-up Johnny (Cage) finds himself following in his father’s footsteps as a stunt-bike driver, until he once again meets Mephistopheles who offers to free his soul if he becomes the fearsome Ghost Rider in order to kill his son, Blackheart (Bentley).
This had far too much CGI for my liking, and not just on Ghost Rider himself. Cage felt wrong for the part, a little too old and too southern for my liking. Bentley was almost laughable as Blackheart, and overall this just felt like a rush job with little or no thought put into the story line.
