The Terminal (2004) 7/10

Starring : Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Stanley Tucci, Barry Shabaka Henley, Chi McBride
Director : Steven Spielberg
Running Time : 124 mins

Viktor Navorski (Hanks) finds himself trapped in JFK airport when his home country of Krakozhia goes to war and is wiped off the map. Now his passport isn’t valid, so he can’t leave the airport or go home as it no longer exists, so he is forced by Homeland Security worker Frank Dixon (Tucci) to set up residence indefinitely in the airport until something can be done, but Navorski’s grasp of English is poor at best and he finds it difficult communicating with the people he meets.

An interesting film, which just goes to prove that loopholes in the law can ruin lives, this concept is nevertheless handled admirably by Spielberg and Hanks. It must have been difficult to stretch out the plot to two hours, but Spielberg manages to do this without the movie becoming boring at any point.
