Running Time : 118 mins
Doctor Nicholas Garrigan (McAvoy) travels to Uganda to assist in a poverty stricken hospital, but he soon meets the new president of Uganda, Idi Amin (Whitaker) who invites Garrigan to be his private physician and personal advisor, but as the years pass Garrigan finds himself a virtual prisoner of the increasingly insane dictator.
This was possibly one of the best dramatic movies I’ve seen in a long time. Whitaker deservedly won the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Amin, as he comes across as every bit the frightening yet charismatic madman.
