Ultraviolet (2005) 5/10

Starring : Milla Jovovich, Cameron Bright, Nick Chinlund, Sebastien Andrieu, Ida Martin, William Fichtner
Director : Kurt Wimmer
Running Time : 95 mins

Violet (Jovovich) lives in a futuristic world where she suffers from a virus called hemophagia which gives her superhuman abilities. The normal uninfected humans consider these super-humans a threat and try to design a virus which in turn can give them an edge over the hemophages, if not destroy them entirely. When Violet meets a boy known simply as Six (Bright), she soon discovers that the boy may be the weapon the humans have been creating to kill her people, so she finds herself desperately trying to prevent the normal humans from getting their hands on him.

This movie was pretty nonsensical, with a camera style similar to Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow. Jovovich once again plays a superhuman style character, but this time the plot isn’t quite so appealing. Definitely not worth bothering with unless you enjoy the kind of movies that meander on into nothingness – a bit like Aeon Flux, or The Matrix.
