Starring : Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Scarlett Johansson, Emily Mortimer, Matthew Goode, Brian Cox, Penelope Wilton
Director : Woody Allen
Running Time : 125 mins
One-time professional tennis player Chris Wilton (Meyers) takes a job teaching wealthy toff Tom Hewett (Goode) the game and starts dating Tom’s sister Chloe (Mortimer), but when he meets Tom’s American girlfriend Nola (Johansson) he starts an elicite affair with her that can only result in disaster.
This was quite a mediocre movie, with some stunted yet overtly intellectual performances that made this feel like it was written by Oscar Wilde. I was surprised that Allen didn’t appear in the movie, but there wasn’t a suitable character for him to play in any case. I’d seriously only recommend this to people who really appreciate Allen’s work, or really fancy Scarlett Johansson, otherwise steer clear.
