An American Haunting (2005) 6/10

In 1817, land owner John Bell (Sutherland) is cursed by one of his enemies and soon after an evil spirit takes over his home, threatening John and his family, and focussing it's attention on his daughter Betsy (Hurd-Wood), attacking the girl in the middle of the night. Desperate to stop the evil spirit from ruining their lives, John seeks help from his local community in ridding himself of the ghost.

This was okay, but its main problem was that it took a long time to get going. By having the setting introduced from the present day, the overall effect is diminished. It would have been far better to just have the story in the past with no flash forwarding at the beginning and end. Worth watching, but a little slow in places.
