Tom Hansen (Gordon-Levitt) has spent is whole life living in a fantasy world where he’ll one day meet his ideal woman, so when he meets Summer Finn (Deschanel) he thinks that day has finally arrived. Unfortunately Summer is only interested in a casual relationship and doesn’t want to commit to anything, leaving Tom to ponder over the 500 days since they met.

This movie has such a great soundtrack – it’s like they took all my favourite songs and put them in one movie! The story is bittersweet and heartfelt, and the conclusion of Tom and Summer’s relationship is foregone to say the least, but at least it ends on a high note and leaves the watcher feeling either uplifted, or simply worried that Tom will have to go through it all over again.
