Starring : Alejandro Polanco, Isamar Gonzales
Director : Ramin Bahrani
Running Time : 85 mins
Alejandro (Polanco) is a street orphan who lives above a chop shop with his sister Isamar (Gonzales). Together they desperately try to make a better life for themselves, making money by stealing car parts for the people downstairs but, eventually, Isamar find herself turning to making money through prostitution.
This is a likable enough movie, with the two leads struggling to make ends meet in a juvenile and engrossing way. The harsh subject matter is treated with admirable frivolity, which makes this palatable despite its strong subject matter. Fans of gritty realism will definitely enjoy this hidden gem, filled with realistic moments.
