Beneath (2007) 7/10

Starring : Nora Zehetner, Matthew Settle, Warren Christie, Jessica Amlee, Carly Pope
Director : Dagen Merrill
Running Time : 82 mins

Six years after a car accident that hideously disfigured her older sister and left her in a psychiatric institution, Christy Westcot (Zehetner) returns to her childhood home for a funeral and discovers that her niece has been seeing what she calls dark things in her room. As Christy looks into the possibilities of someone being in the house with her niece, she starts having hallucinations again and becomes convinced that her dead sister was prematurely buried alive.

This wasn't that bad a horror thriller, even though it does feel at times as if it were made for TV. The horror isn't too over the top, and the pace is near perfect, even though the plot is very predictable. Fans of slow paced horror films like the recent Haunting In Connecticut will enjoy this, although just to warn you this isn't technically a horror film.
