Clubbed (2008) 7/10

It’s the 1980s, and factory worker Danny O'Grady (Raido) has been living a pathetic life, finally getting tipped over the edge when he is badly beaten in front of his young daughters. When he meets a group of bouncers, he takes a job at the club they work at and is finally given the confidence to stand up to those who would try to humiliate him. Unfortunately this leads to him becoming involved with gangland mobsters, and the possibility of prison time.

This wasn’t too bad for what is basically a British gangster movie, and thankfully it doesn’t fall into the trap of having ridiculously comical characters like those you might find in a Guy Ritchie film. It’s a little over the top in the violence department, and there’s a little too much swearing, but it’s an effective movie none the less.
