Enemy At The Gates (2001) 6/10

Starring : Jude Law, Joseph Fiennes, Rachel Weisz, Bob Hoskins, Ed Harris, Ron Perlman
Director : Jean-Jacques Annaud
Running Time : 132 mins

Vassily Zaitsev (Law) is a Russian shepherd fighting during World War II at the Battle Of Stalingrad who finds himself the focal point of a folk legend created by a man named Danilov (Fiennes) when he starts a snipers game of cat and mouse with German Major Konig (Harris).

This is a strange film that for some reason just doesn't feel right. Maybe it's the English actors playing Russians (with English accents), or the Americans playing Germans (with American accents), but this is definitely one of those films that has too little going on in too long a period of time. Avoid this unless you really enjoy political war films.
