Jack Ryan (Affleck), an analyst for the CIA, is called upon to help investigate when a number of Russian scientists go missing, but when they turn up dead and Russia apparently launched an attack on the United States, Ryan suspects that a terrorist group might be behind the attacks, hoping to start a war between the USA and Russia and wipe them both off the map without lifting a finger.

This was an entertaining and gripping political thriller, which although had some very unrealistic moments was none the less still a lot of fun to watch. Affleck isn’t the best choice as the lead, but the supporting cast of well known actors more than make up for his below par acting abilities.
