When Horton the elephant (Carrey) discovers a microscopic world called Whoville living on a floating speck, he finds himself having to fight for the world’s survival. With the help of the Mayor of Whoville (Carell), Horton must protect the world from the clutched of the doubting Kangaroo (Burnett).

Compared to some of the other movies that have been adapted from the work of Dr Seuss, this actually makes sense as a movie. The Cat In The Hat was utterly silly, with little or no real plot, whereas we are lead to care for the inhabitants of Whoville and route for Horton to manage to make his other jungle friends hear their cries for mercy. Definitely worth checking out for those who are eternally young at heart.
