Ray Charles Robinson (Foxx) went d at the early age of seven, but never let this hold him back from his dream career of being a musician. As he tries to overcome prejudice against his perceived disability, he finds his music sky-rocketing up the charts with his unique combination sound of rhythm and blue and gospel music, whilst having to cope with his addiction to drugs.
This biopic on the life of Ray Charles holds no bars. Ray is shown in a realistic light as both a womaniser and a drug addict, but he tries to do what’s best by the people on his life. Jamie Foxx is very affective in the lead role, and the supporting cast of rising stars really do help to keep the story grounded in reality.
