10,000 BC (2008) 6/10

Starring : Steven Strait, Camilla Belle, Cliff Curtis
Director : Roland Emmerich & Harald Kloser
Running Time : 105 mins

Prehistoric hunter D'Leh (Strait) embarks on an epic journey when Evolet (Belle), the love of his life, is kidnapped by a mysterious group of invading forces. As he travels across the country in search of her, he finds himself enslaved by the same warriors and he has to fight for his own life in order to save hers.

There are some pretty decent special effects in this pointless adventure movie, with some interesting takes on woolly mammoths and sabretooth tigers. A cross between Apocalypto and 300, this movie has little in the way of character progression or storyline, and the hammy acting doesn't help to keep this going. But, as it is only an action movie, the acting doesn't need to be good, so if you try to concentrate on the visuals and not the story you might enjoy this a little more.

You’ll like this if you liked : Apocalypto
