Frank Morrison (Travolta) is forced to once again get involved in his ex-wife's life when his son Danny (O'Leary) witnesses his step-father Rick Barnes (Vaughn) murdering ex-con Ray Coleman (Buscemi), but when nobody believes the young boy's story Barnes is allowed to begin to threaten Danny's safety unless he keeps quiet about the murder.

Vince Vaughn is fantastically over the top in this psychological thriller, in which he over shadows the entire cast. Travolta is just a blip on the radar as he endeavours to save his son from the clutches of a manipulative madman, and thanks to Vaughn's performance this has managed to become something of a mini treat.
