Starring : Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Laurie Holden, Andre Braugher, Toby Jones, William Sadler
Director : Frank Darabont
Running Time : 126 mins
When a strange mist descends on a small town, many of the townsfolk find themselves holed up in the local super market, surrounded by stange creatures which are trying to kill them. As the days pass, the group splits into two groups; those who side with David Drayton (Jane) and believe that the creatures are a direct result of a military experiment gone wrong, and those who side with Mrs Carmody (Harden) who believes the creatures are a test from God.
This was an interesting movie, but it just ran on for ages. The downbeat ending was unusual for a Hollywood movie, but does kind of stick in your mind as the credits role. Boy, the people who wrote that had a real downer on the whole situation, nad it’s really odd they kept the ending quite similar to King’s original idea.
