Starring : Robert De Niro, Frances McDormand, James Franco, Eliza Dushku
Director : Michael Caton-Jones
Running Time : 104 mins
Lt Vincent LaMarca (De Niro) is reunited with his estranged son Joey (Franco) when the youth is implicated in the killing of a reknowned drug dealer, and LaMarca is forced to decide between his loyalty to his son and to his job as a police officer when his colleagues start to believe his son may have been responsible for the death.
This is an action thriller that focuses more on the quality of acting than on making an impact with violence. De Niro very much underplays his character's love for his son, choosing to believe in him right up until the bitter end, and Franco is perfect as the junkie son (he always looks stoned in any case). Well worth checkinh out if you haven't seen it before, although it does drag on a little in the middle.
