Starring : Don Cheadle, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cedric The Entertainer, Taraji P Henson, Mike Epps
Director : Kasi Lemons
Running Time : 119 mins
Ex-con Petey Greene (Cheadle) manages to hustle himself a job on a morning radio show, and soon becomes popular with many for his shocking approach. With the help of programme director Dewey Hughes (Ejiofor), attempts are made to increase Green’s popularity with the wider masses, but by watering down his performance Greene starts to become self-destructive and soon starts to come apart at the seams.
This is a generally fast-paced drama, but even so it does drag in parts. Fortunately Cheadle and Ejiofor play off each other with relative ease and prove that even the most simple story can be made special if the performances are up to scratch. There's a lot of humour injected into the drama as well, so don't expect not to laugh at points, especially where Cheadle is concerned.
