Home Of The Brave (2006) 6/10

Starring : Samuel L Jackson, Jesica Biel, Brian Presley, Curtis Jackson, Sam Jones III
Director :Irwin Winkler
Running Time : 103 mins

When a team of soldiers return from Afghanistan to their home town, they soon realise that life back in their own world isn't as easy as they remember. Will Marsh (Jackson) is faced with a son (Jones) who is both anti war and anti his own father, Vanessa Price (Biel) has to face up to life with just one hand, Jamal Aiken (Jackson) has trouble getting the simplest information about his health benefits, and Tommy Yates (Presley) can't even find work any more.

This is an interesting movie which, rather than taking the whole notion of war and ramming it down the viewers throat, takes some of the possible repercussions and examines them through four different people. The results are mixed, but on the whole there were some interesting moments which helped move the film forward and there were some nice underplayed performances from the cast.
