Johnny Rico (Van Dien), now a Colonel, is called upon to help fight the bugs once again when his friend and one-time lover Lola Beck (Blalock) is stranded on the bug planet known as OM-1 with public hero Sky Marshal Omar Anoke (Hogan), a man with a terrible secret that no-one can possibly guess.

This was so much better than the straight to video sequel that looked like it had run out of lighting budget by the second scene. Although Rico isn't really the main character in this, it's nice to have someone from the original show up again to try and make us forget the second instalment. With much more of a Verhoeven feel to it, this is a pretty good attempt at reliving the glory of the original.
