Ariel Wolfe (Rhigetti), whose sister apparently committed suicide after escaping a terrible night at the Vannacutt Psychiatric Institute for the Criminally Insane, has it made it her mission to find out what really happened to her. She soon discovers that her sister was in fact murdered by dodgy art dealer Desmond Niles (Palladino), who forces her to go back to the institute to locate a valuable artefact with a number of his business associates but they soon discover – along with some other people who have wormed their way into the building – that the place is haunted by its former residents.

In spite of a ridiculously convoluted plotline and some obvious coincidences, this was actually pretty good. Fans of the original will be surprised that this is on a par with the 1999 classic, and it’s a shame it didn’t get a cinema release as many will assume that this is terrible.
