Following the death of Superman, the American government becomes concerned that the world may be vulnerable to attack from other alien beings, so they sanction a task force of ex-criminal meta-humans to use as fodder against any potential threat – but their first threat comes from far closer to home than they could have imagined.

This was such a fun movie. I was surprised that, on the whole, the characters were pretty well rounded and had back stories that could have themselves been full movies. Robbie was Harley Quinn was the standout star, even overshadowing Smith whose take on Deadshot was pretty much the straight man to the rest of the squad, and Leto’s Joker may be criticised for not being like Nicholson or Ledger, but then if it was he would have just been considered a rip-off and instead makes him both quirky and unique, something that was helped by his romance with Quinn.
