When Charley Brewster (Yelchin) starts to suspect that his new next-door neighbour Jerry Dandridge (Farrell) might be behind a series of killings that have recently occurred in the neighbourhood, no one believes him. So when he starts to suspect that Jerry might actually be a vampire, he employs the aid of Las Vegas magician and self-proclaimed vampire hunter, Peter Vincent (Tennant).
Although this is yet another 80s horror remake – and a remake of one of my favourites – this is still an entertaining adaptation. I especially liked what they did with the characters of Peter Vincent, changing him from a late night horror movie presenter to a Vegas showman. Well worth watching, and fans of the original will be pleased that its memory has been honoured.
