Kirsty Cotton (Laurence) has all but lost her memories of her terrible ordeal with the Chinese puzzle box that nearly destroyed her life, but when she and her husband Trevor (Winters) are involved in a car crash that kills Kirsty, Trevor starts suffering hallucinations that make him suspect that he is living in his own personal hell.

For me this was a bit of a let-down, considering how Hellraiser : Inferno had made it look like things were on the upturn for this series. The return of Ashley Laurence from the original two movies should have made this something special, but her reappearance – although pivotal to the storyline – is something of a non-event. The story makes more sense than Hellraiser 3 or 4, but I just couldn’t take Dean Winters seriously after his recurring role in 30 Rock.
