Absolutely Anything (2015) 8/10

Starring : Simon Pegg, Kate Beckinsale, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Rob Riggle, Robert Bathurst, Eddie Izzard, Joanna Lumley, Robin Williams
Director : Terry Jones
Running Time : 82 mins

Neil Clarke (Pegg) is a teacher who dreams of being a published author and getting together with his downstairs neighbour, Catherine (Beckinsale). When an invading force of aliens use him as a test subject to see what kind of race mankind is, and to decide whether to welcome them or destroy them, Neil finds himself possessing superpowers that allow him to make absolutely anything be true.

Even though this movie doesn’t come up with any new or exciting ideas, and somehow misses the opportunity for the main character to make himself into a famous author, this is still a fun filled movie that, if not for the frequent use of bad language, could have made for a great family movie. Pegg works well in the lead, though it seems unlikely that Beckinsale would willingly be attracted to him, and the supporting cast of big names makes this a wonderful little known movie.
