Nick (Bateman), Kurt (Sudeikis), and Dale (Day) have quit their jobs and come up with a novel invention – the shower buddy – but need help from investors to raise the capital to get the manufacturing running. When they are screwed over by businessman Bert Hanson (Waltz), they come up with a scam to kidnap his son Rex (Pine) and hold him to ransom for the money they need to save their company. But Rex wants in on the deal, and soon things start going horribly wrong...

This is a worthy sequel to the 2011 original, bringing back the surviving characters are turning their lives upside down. Once agin, although they are planning on becoming their own bosses, they find control ripped away from them and the lengths they resort to are funny and well thought through by the writers. The addition of Waltz and Pine is very good, and personally I wanted to slap the two of them just as much as our heroes did.
