Starring : Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Josh Gad, Pierce Gagnon, Ashley Greene, Kate Hudson, Joey King, Jim Parsons, Mandy Patinkin
Director : Zach Braff
Running Time : 107 mins
Struggling actor Aidan Bloom (Braff) is forced to look for work when his family run low on money to pay for their children’s Hebrew school. Realising that he has no saleable skills, he resorts to homeschooling his two children until the local public school has available places.
This movie had its moments, and as far as dry humour goes this had it in spades, but the story didn’t gel together quite as well as I’d hoped. The performances were pretty good, especially from up and comer Joey King. Though Kate Hudson was sort of wasted in this simple roll. Braff seems to give his character all the most memorable moments, and it would have been nice if the other characters were given the option to be more fully fleshed out.
